Not only is Pear Deck engaging, it is also a great way to administer formal and informal checks with your class. In this session we will practice using Pear Deck and discover a few tips and tricks that make Pear Deck a #1 tool for increased student engagement and quick classroom data checks.

Who doesn't love google slides?!?.
In this session you will be creating multiple google slide templates for year round use. We will focus on templates for planning, daily/agenda slides, seating charts, student activities & parent communication. You will also have the opportunity to create slides with locked backgrounds, fun design elements and interactive pieces.

Bring your devices! There will be ample time to create/customize. You will be leaving with finished products to start using in the classroom right away!

We've noticed a pattern in our favorite coming-of-age protagonists and their relationships to supporting characters: the supporting characters in the narratives we find most compelling are more than merely foils or Jungian archetypes. Rather they are fully-formed metaphorical personality components of the protagonists themselves. We find this fun and fascinating and want to discuss it with other literature nerds. In our first ever "Old School vs. New School" series, participants will be given the space and opportunity to discuss important topics in education. There are no right or wrong answers to these often sticky questions. We want to provide you with a chance to share your thoughts while also learning from others. Great things can come from engaging in discourse with other experts in education!

As an added bonus, the facilitators will be using interactive communication protocols that you can experience and then adapt to your own classroom.
